RURA hosts ITU member states to discuss ICT quality of service

March 04, 2019: Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA) in partnership with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) are conducting a two-day Workshop on Network Performance, Quality of Service and Quality of Experience.

The workshop has brought together delegates from ITU Member States from African continent, ICT service providers and Regulators, Associates and Academic Institutions operating in ICT sector.

In his Opening remarks the Director General of RURA,Patrick Nyirishema, stressed the importance of the workshop as far as the growth of the ICT industry and quality of service are concerned.

Workshop objectives:

-Introduce the work of ITU on performance, quality of service (QoS) and quality of experience (QoE);

- Exchange telecommunication service quality best practices, including on QoS evaluation, benchmarking and optimization;

- Identify QoS and QoE requirements for popular OTT and content subscription services;

- Assess the impact of trends in the telecommunications sector on service quality.

This workshop is a great opportunity for participants to discuss the role of policy makers, regulators, operators, regional and international organizations in improving quality of service for telecommunications sector.
